The death that hurt me the most was Voldemort’s. He has always been my favorite, he taught me that it doesn’t matter where I come from, that it doesn’t matter that people don’t seem to like me much or that nobody believes in me and that I can still achieve my dreams no matter what other people think off them or how fucked up they think I am. That’s why I love him and that’s way he’ll always have a special place in my heart.

People ‘don’t seem to like him very much’ not because of where he came from, but because he’s a manipulative mass murderer who relishes causing pain to those he has power over. Nobody decent believed in him because what he stood for was utterly inhuman. The only people who DID believe in him were privileged bigots whose bigotries he promised to verify and whose privilege he promised to reinforce. The dreams he tried to achieve WERE fucked up, since they included genocide, torture and other horrific crimes against humanity.

I mean, I’ve seen people joke about how it would have been better if Voldemort won, usually in the foul entitled vein of ‘my ship didn’t happen so it’s better for my fave character to suffer and eventually die under the regime of a monster who thinks people of her heritage are subhuman, rather than marry that ginger bloke who she likes and who likes her.’ But this person seems to actually be serious about it.
